Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Easy all

I got a CF card reader, but when I opened my MPC, I hadnt the foggiest on what to do.
So I scurried home to MPC-FORUMS and discovered that I am in a pick;e because mine still has the floppy fitted.
I know I need to get extra bits and bobs, but could someone just do like an "Idiot's Guide" to rewiring and installation because I am useless and do not want to ruin my MPC.

Help if u can.

re-read the link nicole sent you and do a search in this forum. there are pics in these threads that show you what cables you need and what they are called.

thanks for the advice strategy. the cables and additional leads are one thing, but the soldering - is it really necessary coz thats the bit that freaks me out.
im a clumsy dude so i dont wana jepoardize my machine.

If theres someone in London that can help. get at me.

Well I think I have messed the MPC up. I tried to install it and had to do a soldering job, but then whilst trying to screw the card reader in, it fell and the front panel has now broke off.
When I did manage to screw it all in, the front lights go on, but thats it, the MPC os not reading it.
So now I have an MPC and a card reader with no face and more than likely, I will have to send it somewhere to be fixed - I'm not happy!!!

Anyone know anywhere in the UK, preferably London that does MPC repairs???
