Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

IVE HEARD THE TERM TIMESTRETCHING BEFORE, and even have seen it in the sample edit menu on the XL, but what the hell exactly does it do? maybe im using it wrong?

It's used to lengthen or shorten a sample without changing its pitch.
-or-
to change the pitch of a sample without changing its length.

the only thing that bugs me is that it takes to long to resample or timestrect or beatmatch :evil: ......so what programs can i use on the pc for these tasks??
