While I wouldn't consider it a "main" function, I do use it a lot. I usually shift my snares one or two ticks late, I also use this feature when using multiple snares or claps to create that off set that's so popular now(I've been doin' this for years as I'm sure many others in this forum have). I also like to shift cymbal hits off a tick so they're not hitting at the exact same time as the kick. All in all I'd say this is a great feature for adding that "human" feel to a drum track.

i do it in step edit.

I'm with him on this, I've been doing it for years and it works to give you that non-robotic more human type feel.

Sort of. In the quantize screen ("Timing Correct" screen), you can use the "Shift Timing" function to nudge the whole track earlier or later.

-OR- you can just nudge one pad within that track.
At the bottom left it says "Notes:___" If it says "ALL" next to it, the whole track will be shifted....but if you highlight it and hit a pad, then just that pad will be shifted.

In either case, you have to hit 'do it' , of course.

With certain functions, I'm kind of a control freak so I like to do it manually with each note myself. Itchy shows the easier way to do it though.

Opening the timing page and have it go earlier or later is definitely quicker - but in this page if you set a sample to go later by "1" the sample actually moves 2 ticks, for some reason, at least on the 2000. So step is better for finer editing.
