problem with ram upgrade

So I got a 2000xl a couple weeks ago, and I just got the memory upgrade off ebay today.

I followed the directions and installed it, and it's not detecting the memory.

I pushed the sticks in all the way I think, the gold parts aren't showing. I snapped them upright.

I tried doing it a couple different times, switched the sticks from spot to spot.
But when i check the memory it still says 2mb.

The sticks are physically different sizes, one's a little taller than the other. So I'm wondering if I got sent bad ram, or the wrong ram.

Could it be a problem with my mpc? (I did buy it used)

Is there a way to check if the problem is the ram or my mpc?

all you need is someone with a working 2kxl that has the ram upgrade. then swap out the sticks and see what's up. Try calling music shops in your area if you don't know anyone personally

Thanks, I'm gonna try calling local shops tomorrow, see if they have one and if they'll let me bring mine in to swap the sticks with it.
