so what is it you need asistance with???? sampling from a turntable
getting your SCSI drive to work properly ..

have you read the manual??
have you used the search function on this site??
where are you at with your studio configuration / experimentation ..
or have you tried that yet ??

on the cool , MPC's aren't that difficult to get started on
IF YOU READ THE MANUAL .. almost all getting started questions
can be answered

and if you can read i CLEARLY SAID I READ THE MANAUL!..IT SAYS NOTHING A PARALLEL PORTS!
2ND.the manual doesnt give clear inisght on sampling direct in the the mp..on page it shows whats on the menu screen,,my question was on do i have EVERYTHING HOOKED UP RIGHT...

so please read the post entirly before you made newbie assumptions

1. a parrallel drive only works for parrellel devices, I E, the parrallel port on your PC.. so no IT WONT WORK with your MPC.. if you read your manual IT only talks about SCSI...

2. you second question was sort INCOMPLETE.. there wasnt enough information to give you an answer. i will assume some things a give you the best possible answer i can give..

the manual does give MUCH insight on how to sample.. just look in the manual for "sampling a new sound"

locate your numeric buttons on your unit, hold down "shift", then press the corresponding numeric button for "sample". this takes you to the recording screen. the rest is up to you. make sure you increase the sample time (how much you want to sample) in the record screen. and turn you record gain knob up so that your unit can recognize the source its recording.

once your sample source starts playing the part you want to sample, hit [F6] (i believe) to start recording the sample. and [F6] again to stop recording the sample.

as far as having everything hooked up correctly, you just have to make sure that your sampling source is connected to your "RECORD IN" inputs on your unit.

lmmfao .. well all of this newbies equipment works .. and this newbie doesnt ask dipsheit ass questions .. all this from a muphucka who cant even
sample with his own sh1t yet .. pathetic .. you should just use fruity loops
very easy to learn and nothing to hook up lmfao ..
please do not respond with a witty remark .. you obviously lack the necessary skills to configure REAL equipment .. even after readin the manual ... but your about par for the course with the rest of the new booties here .. and as far as newbie goes .. whenever your ready to have your ass handed to you we can put it to the sequencer .. oh wait do you know what a sequencer is .. lmbao
