How to turn off the pad sounds, while playing keyboard?

I have my midi keyboard hooked up to mpc 2k, then the mpc midi out to the pc, so the pc works like a sound module...
the problem is, the sounds i have on the program are being played by the keyboard...so i get bass line combined with a crash cymbal or **** like that..

How can i turn of the program assigment for a specific track or something? Or how can i make the mpc to stop listening to midi notes im sending on a specific midi chanel? pls help

It can depend on how you are routing things, but typically it is up to the current track you are on. Most likely that track is assigned to a drum program in your case. You want to change that to "midi" and then set the apropriate midi out channel you want to use. So make sure you are on a track that you don't already have other stuff sequenced on.

thx, but i think that "changing the track to 'midi'... " is only possible in 2kxl, im on the 2k classic...is there an alternative for this?

i got the same problem....i know the 1000 and 2500 program selection is different. if i dont have the program the the select program w/sounds then nothing will play. but on the 2k even with program off my drum sounds still play in the track.

yes, as alskee said, turning the pgm off doesnt help...as well as some other things that could work on 2kxl, 1k atc....


Jacpot: if u have nothing to help with, dont post...u r probably not familiar with the 2k interface, that u find this so funny

EDIT: I HAVE TO APOLOGISE, changing from drum to midi is possible, the problem is solved out then...sorry Jacpot, i deserve laughing...but next time really rather write how or do not write, laughing doesn't help...
