adjustment option in timstretch screen

Has anyone used this function and heard any difference to the sample? I thought using it would speed/slow the sample down slightly. I want the sample to be saved being 'sped-up' so it takes less space on the floppy. I can do it by using another sampler to sample the tuned up sound, and then sending it back to the mpc, but I want to eliminate using 2 samplers if possible.

Timestretch will not accomplish this. The resulting file will be the same size as the original. You best bet is to sample at a higher pitch to begin with.

Auto-Chrom with the sample and if you find what you like, resample or just save the program.

That still does not make the sample smaller on the floppy.

But I was hoping the adjustment option in the timestretch would tune/de-tune the sample. It does absolutely nothing when I try it..but I thought maybe I was doing something wrong. Ohh well.. I'll just use my other sampler to do the job.. thanx for the replies.

The "Adjust:___" field is just a "fine tweak" for the timestretch preset.

A positive value improves high frequency sounds.
A negative(-) value improves low frequency sounds.
