samples and drum beats

how do you guys match your samples from records with your drum beats
how do you get it on the same beat/tempo do you set them to the same tempo or do you just play around with them till you get them on beat

this belongs in the newbie forum guy.

just do some cutting,trimming,adjust bpm/sample tempo/stretch, whatever.
Its about whatever u think is best, that is why u are the producer.

right ur the beatmaker.

this is a trick that one of the greats used. I won't say who. TRUE SHIT!! Spin your record with your custom or pre made drum loop and mess with the pitch control on your turntable to find the right pitch then sample it...or you could always sample your loop and tune the sample. Like home boy said your the beatsmith so you do what's best for you. We've all been the in situation on should i do this cause i read super duper producer does this way but fcuk that BE YOUR SELF and create your way of doing things. Sorry if i got to personal. Extremely easy. Tap Tempo is your friend. Tap tap tempo to the beat of the recording. Record sample or chops. If it's not exact, adjust the tempo with the data wheel until it loops perfect Then drop in drums. If you want the drums to be slower or faster, pitch the sample up or down. That's how I do it.

i always chop the drumsamples so i don't have worry about the tempo of the other sample(s)
