Replacing the LCD

Just got my 2000xl from ebay *paid $618 shipped to hawaii and after the first night of working with it, the LCD had a Line, its not completely out, the text is much lighter than the other parts and it seems as if the backlight is really light compared to my other 2000xl, the blue one, if i replaced the lcd, i know it would fix the lines, but would it fix the lighting or is that another problem i need to address??

are you sure the contrast isn't extremly high? shift>data wheel to control it

yep, dont know, lcd is acting weird, theirs no lines now.. its at the same contrast level as before... oh well, i'll just wait til something goes wrong, hopefully not though...
