fmx008m

Hello ive been reading the 2000 classic manual and it says there is an optional flash rom expansion card (fmx008m) but it says it is only compatible with future OS updates (it is the os version 1.0 manual) and i have version 1.72.

So im wondering, if i install this flash rom card will i be able to store the OS on it so i wont have to use a floppy to boot up with every time?

Sorry for the noob question but i couldnt find an answer anywhere in the manual.
