I am getting a mean noise, like static, on all my samples from records, im thinking its from my input cables... any suggestions on a brand or style that will give better clarity?

thanks

Is the static like white noise or more like hum?

How do you record your samples?

you changed your subject, ey?

Anyway, since it is hum, there are two obvious sources:

1. your turntable isnt grounded. There is a grounding connection that needs to connect to the amp.

2. the audio cables are shorting. try different cables.

If all the connections from your record deck are attached to it permanently, you need to change them from within or get a different deck to see if the problem arises from it. A repair is needed if you are not sure how to do it.

good luck.

hmm... I need more info then.

What sampler do you use? Do you normalise? What does your setup look like? Have you tried any troubleshooting that made you come to the conclusion it is your input cables? Do you prefer even or odd numbered years? (sorry english humour)

If you can explain you recording chain that would be helpful.
