slice samples - zones adjustment

i been thinking about this for a minute, cause everytime i make a beat
this is something that annoys the ish outta me...

everytime i slice a sample on the 2KXL i got this problem..

now often the zones are set lightly different from what i need them to be
because i always leave a little space on both ends
for the cause i need to change it later..

but when i manually correct the start and ending points of each zone
and then slice the sample, the pieces are still the way the MPC sliced them.

how come it doesn't accept my adjustments?

select the sample u want to chop in trim mode.... then hit zone.... then manually set the amount of zones to chop... then for each zone set the start and end points accordingly...when u get it how u like, (u can chek it urself by selecting 'zone' in the play x field in the top right part of the screen and hitting play x on the bottom right part of the screen) u need to hit edit then choose weather or not u want to make a new pgm... yes/no then hit do it....if u choose to make new pgm, then ur samples will automatically be assigned to the pads, if u choose to not make new pgm, u need to assign the newley chopped samples urself.... there should be no problem whatsoever if u do exactly this...... if anyone finds that there is a prob with this, please correct me so this cat isnt all messed up, because i asume that he cant read very well or research since he came here to ask this question hoping to get an easy way out instead of puttin in work like some of us here....maybe he has no manual, maybe he doesnt have his own pc with internet and hes at the library using it there or at his friends house abusing it there.... maybe his mp is broke, maybe not.... he might be though.....ive said too much.....

be easy mang. slicing samples on the mp is nothing new to me.
i didn't ask how to do that.

my problem was that after i hit "slice sound" the slices are not exact the way i
adjusted them. but ive found out its because the end margin is set to 30 by default
and i never gave attention to that.. so the end points were always a little shifted...

but still.. i set start & end points for the zones of a sound (A). when i now quickly go to another sound (B)
and then back to sound (A) the zones of (A) are in their original state and my settings are gone.

my question is: is that normal or can those zone settings somehow be saved or locked?


its not a huge problem, just quite annoying. thats all...

i c .... i think u might need to go ahead and slice before you go to another sound....once u go to that other sound, i think the mp automaticaly sets it back to the default zone.... try that....

as soon as you have your zones changed and set on one sample, if you switch to another sample...those settings are lost. so, to avoid this, slice your sample immediately, then move on to the next sample.

yeah. thats how i do it..
i just thought there might be a way to save those settings so if u want
to change it u could go back and just edit that particular slice and u dont have to start all over again.

like i said its not a huge prob though..
