noise reduction- filtration....eq

Ive seen people mention these things to filter samples, is all this done outside the mpc... i know the two catagories to clean it up a bit under parameters but is there a filter or equalizer in the mpc 2000xl?
Im trying to get rid of the pops and hiss of an old record. When i cut up the drum tracks and sequence them you can hear the hiss behind the kick and snare etc coming in and out. Can i do this inside the mpc?

i just invested in an EB 16 effect card. installed it today, supposedly has a filter effect, along with reverb and buncha other things

another question: what outside equipment are people using to filter their samples?
