16 Levels-- Param-Note Var, Type Tuning and decay

Sup all!! I got a keyboard stab that is origionally sustained off the scsi disk I sampled it from. I have set the Parameter to Note Variation and the Type to tuning. The number is set in under type so that I have the correct set of pitches on the pads. When I go back into this menu to adjust the decay of this note I can't get it to hold across all sixteen pitches when I'm tryin to lay down my overdubs in sequecnce mode on a new track. The only time that the decay is right is when I'm in that menu but it only gives me sixteen variants of the originally sampled pitch. How do I select the one decay from the sixteen choices and apply it to the sixteen pitches I have from the tuning menu?? Sorry if my question is confusing its all still new to me, Thanks!

If I understand you right, you are trying to do two different note variations at the same time, which the 2k/xl won't allow.

I suggest you assign the same sample to all 16 pads in 'program' mode and tune/adjust decay for each of them.

I would 16level the pitch, lay the notes you want, then go back, reset the 16 levels or slider to decay, and then lay that.

Or, like he said, you could set up a template with individually programmed parameters. An easy way to do this is the 'autochromatic assignment' function, which will lay the one keyboard stab, or any sample, on an entire 64 note program of it's own. It won't copy the sample, but it will chromaticly assign it all the way up the keyboard. This will come out different than the 'every other note' style of the 16 level assignment, because it's chromatic, not semitonal.
