press shift (i think) and that should make ur numbers negative.
dont forget to press shift after u type in the negative number so ur new number is stored.

its always driven me crazy that i could type in positive numbers, but for anything negative, i had to scroll.

after watching this video, i noticed, dude is entering in negative values without touching the wheel.

(that is the kev brown 'making a beat' vid youve all seen)

anyway, playing around with it last night i figured it out for certain -

you hit enter before you type the number, and it changes to negative.

so 'enter' key also doubles as a negative/positive 'toggle'.

i never knew that, and im not sure if it's in the manual.

do you mean like setting a sample to -20 in pitch? if so just hit enter before the number then enter again. (i hope this isnt the thing you was lookin for cause i figured this out and ive only had my 2000xl since august.) :?

Haha funny my 2000 (nonXL) do the opposite. It always give me negative numbers from the start. But if I set the parameter to a positive value with the wheel it will stay in the positive numbers when I enter a number.

value is positve -> enter number = positve number
value is negative-> enter number = negative number
value is 0 -> enter number = negative number

hitting enter before does nothing on the 2000 :(

Yes yes! This is a simple and yet advanced feature.
On the XL: Hit Enter to switch +/-
Hit once before typing always makes it negative
Hit twice before typing always makes it positive
Enjoy!
