What's the best way to use a digital 8 track w/ the mpc?

I just bought a roland vs880 digital 8 track. I was wondering what the most convenient way to utilize it is, as far as mixing and eq-ing sounds before sampling them??

one more question...so i have an mpc, the roland, a dj mixer, and a turntable. what's the best way to set them all up?? thanks in advance

In my set up... the roland doesn't have anything to do with the others because I record track by track instead of mixing the beat into the roland on two tracks. I just got my modules and mpc jacked into the mixer via 1/4 inch plugs (that just for making beats and arraging sequences) after i get everything the way I want I put the module and mpc 1/4 inch plugs into the roland and slave the mpc to the roland. I move the tracks over by muting the ones i don't want and playing the ones I do.

I do what Leory does too...

Just use the Roland as the Master and slave the MPC.

Mute tracks on the MPC and dump them onto the Roland one by one. You'll have to use the Tempo map in the roland...set your BPM there...and set the correct Midi info on both units to send and receive.

Just use your mixer to feed the TT seperatley.

i have a similar setup and was wondering how i was going to tie it all in together. i have the mixer out going into the mpc and than an audio out to my aw16g.

would that same setup work for me?

i kno i can slave my mpc to the aw16g - so basically make the beat and then dump it track by track into the aw16g? that would be blazin' - cuz i was wondering how i was going to manipulate diff parts of the song once i made the beat on the mpc

i kno the g has a tempo map also.....i haven't figured all the stuff out yet but i like what yall are saying here..............hmm

Use the Yami as a master...the MPC as a slave...that's what I think works best.

Think about it...you can mess with you seq's on the MPC... at anytime and then dump the (punch) onto the recorder way easier then the other way around..
