Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Sup y'all. I've read through the manual and looked through the forums and couldn't find an answer for my question.

I'm trying to do some remixes with acapellas. I don't have a computer....just my mpc, turntables and triton. WHatever I play on my turntables are only audible when I'm in the Sample screen of my MPC meaning I can't hear anything from the turntable when I'm in the Main Screen. Is this normal? Is there a way to play the turntable and hear it on the mainscreen so I can listen to an acapella over my beat? Because you can't hear your beat play when in the Sample screen of the MPC.

What I have been doing to this point is sample an entire acapella onto a Zip disk and then lace my beat with it.....but that takes way too much memory on a Zip disk.

the only way you can hear an input source is by bieng in the sample screen. theres no other way to hear thru sound. you should get a mixer so you can plug all your outputs into it and hear everything at once.

Just monitor the turntables through the headphones on the turntable mixer, and monitor the MPC through speakers.

hook up the mpc to the line (in) on youre mixer so you have both sampler and turntable connected to the mixer
