8 outs recording question

Okay so If I buy the 8 outs for the MPC 2000xl...

How would I record 8 tracks at once into protools or cvubase?

do the 8 outs just go str8 into the mixer? and if so what kind of mixer?

To record 8 tracks from the mpc at once into (for example) Cubase - you're gonna need sound card in your pc that supports 8 input channels,has 8 INS.

About the mixer - rule is the same.You need a mixer that has 8 input channels.

My mistake - have to correct the post above.
I meant 8 output channels from the mpc, not 8 tracks.

And by the way - these 8 outs for mpc are mono.Just in case if you don't know and you're going to look for the mixer or sound card.

Hi guys, I have bought a new soundcard Edirol FA 101, plugged 8 outputs to 8 inputs and realised, that each MPC output is only LEFT or RIGHT? So I cant get each track from MPC thru one output / for example: Track 1 thru Output 1, track 2 thru Output 2 etc.../ or can I???

Well I don't Use the 8 Outs Of course so I have no idea how they work and no knowing the 8 outs does not take awey from the beats I can curently do as of right now....

I never said I know everything, lol.

I do know how to browse around Tweakheadz.com to get a good idea on how to route audio, then look up the 8outs in the 2kxl manual, then put 2 and 2 together dog, cmon now.

Your a dj, you've done stuff just as hard if not harder than this when dj'ing, lol.

I guess I'm a throwback from the "do it yourself" school of thought.

I'm in the process of opening the 8 outs on my 2xl, now I'm looking for a economically feasible interface that will allow me to maximize the 8 outs. My understanding is if I get the MBOX 2 it's not going to let me utlitlize the 8 outs to it's fullest and is time consuming. I'm not so much concerned about using all of the outs but as many outs as possible at a feasible price. Any suggestion?
