If I Have digi 002 and I'm willing to spend 200-300 on a Mic what kind of mic should I get for Rap and Hip-hop Vocals over all?

try an oktava mk 219 or another oktava. good value.

studio projects C1 or C3.

I have them both and brought them to the studio we use for school and did a shoot out, we AB'd them blind with a U87, A U89, A 414 and a C12!

these mics where run threw the built in mic pre's on the neve console we have.

#2 on all the vovals was the studio projects C series mics, tied for second.
#1.... Well for $12,000 the C12 better win!

but overall, we found these 2 studio project mics did really well, and lived up to the hype.

I would recommend either one of them.

Hey about the AT4040 do you recamend a Preamp or since its just for like a home studio I won't need one?

you will need a preamp to power the condensor mic, also I don't think the at4040 is 299 last I remembered they were goin for around 100 so you'll def have enough money for a preamp
