Burning Akai format Cds.

Anybody have any luck burning their Zips onto Akai formatted CDs?? I have a pile of Zips that I'm sure are going to die and I'd like to back them up to CD. The problem is the MPC 2000 will only ready Akai formatted CDs. I was fooling around with making a disk image of the zip in an internal zip drive, but was having no luck. Dont ask me what I'm doing with a SCSI CD drive....
Any ideas?
