Sound Processing w/ the MPC2000XL

I need some curcial adivce before I decide on what akai sampler to get.

Is there a way to save a .wav after you've modified it with a program? Like the Frequency and Resonance settings, etc. I've heard that you can't save a modified file's resonance, freq, pitch and save the results as a .wav file in order to edit it w/ pc software. Is this true?

I think all fx/dynamics/pitch settings are in the .pgm file and therefore wont be present if you save a sample as a wav and export to computer. The sample will sound how you hear it on the 'trim' menu. A good workaround would be just to record your sound from the stereo out of the mpc into your computer for editing, after you have applied the mpc effects.

why not just sample straight into the computer?? how would you transfer the file from your 2000xl to the computer?? using floppys???

if this is a crucial feature, an option would be to get an mpc1000, which enables you to resample the main outs and tehn you can just connect the usb and drop teh files into your computer.....

whats weak though is this is this is a lot of work, i dont know and then you'd edit the sample in the computer then dump it back into the mpc??
