OS v1.01

I have a MPC2000XL and I was trying to update it via the floppy disk. I followed the instructions and it took over a half hour to update, then, it said press any key to restart. After the restart, it says loading something (i can't remember exactly) for a long time and would not boot up. Now I've made a v1.14 disk from the akai update webpage, but when I put the floppy disk in, it asks for v1.01. Where can I download v1.01 or what else can I do to reinstall an operating system?
By the way, the update files (.BIN) just needs to be copied over to a formatted floppy disk? or am I doing something wrong?

dont you need to format it in dos mode, im not sure.. i had a similar issues with the s3200xl

Got it to load using a SCSI Zip drive. It seems the update I downloaded is just a "patch" and the MPC was stuck in the update mode until it could get the BIN file.
