Help! broken Note Variation slider..anybody ever replace?

I accidently banged my knee against my mpc , more specifically against the note variation slider and now it doesnt work. And i am just about to sell it and maybe get the 2500. I thought i should maybe open it and just see if maybe it's been pulled out of the socket or just needs to be replaced all together. Anybody have experience opening it and replacing the skider or any suggestions would help I am going to sell it soon and want to fix this minor problem.

i did try to use the search on this topic already...

click SEARCH button>type in "slider AND replace">check the 'Search for all terms' bullet>hit 'Search'

mine arrived from VST on friday
i need to find a soldering iron i can borrow though before i can work on it

the notevariationslider is a standart alps-fader. Mine was broken too,
i gave it to a friend and he replace it , i think it´s mounted on 4 Points.
