Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Just got my XL today and need help as far as storage goes. It keeps telling me in the manual that I must save to floppy or I'll lose all my samples and programs yet I don't even hav e a floppy drive. The only thing they sent with it is a 32 mb CF card. Can I save to this instead? Also, they sent me a cd-rom sound library and I don't even have a cd-rom player...do I need to connect to my pc to transfer this stuff over?

Since I have a newer model does that mean I don't even have to worry about floppy? I can just save to a CF card correct? Hate to sound like a noob but everyone started somewhere.

Rob

Appreciate the help Rob. One more quick question for now...I know that 32 mb probably won't be sufficient in the long run so what do you recommend getting to replace it? For example would a SanDisk 1gb CF be a good size and brand to go with?

Sure. I've got a few SanDisk 1gb cards that I haven't had any problems with.

Im a newbee too, I should receive mines either today or tomorrow, I just wanted to know within the MPC, where can I see how much space that it can hold. I purchased one off of ebay for 700 and it didn't state exactly how much space it has. It comes with a both a zip drive and it has a floppy drive also.

Zips hold 100MB your machine could hold anywhere from 2-32MB I think, depending on if the memory was upgraded.
