Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By hurf27 Fri Mar 02, 2007 11:50 pm
I have just bought an 8 output board for my MPC2000 but the 34 pin ide lead is too short to reach the motherboard.
I cannot find a male to female lead to extend it anywhere and i suspect that they don't exist.
I can only find either female to female leads or one sided female leads, which means that i will probably have to remove the existing lead, which seems to be very firmly fixed and I'm worried about breaking it.
Can anyone either:
1. Tell me where i can find a M to F lead to extend the current lead, or
2. Let me know how to remove the existing lead and replace it with a new longer one.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, especially if someone has experienced (and solved) the same problem.

Ok I've looked around the forums and it looks like i might have an IB-208P board instead of an IB-M208P board.
Even though it was sold as an IB-M208P board.
How can I tell?

This is the one you got:

and you need:

I've noticed that on a lot of sites one is mistaken for the other. Either that or they put the wrong picture...

The differences are the lenght of the cable and the size of the plate.

Thanks very much, I thought as much, but you've cleared it up for me.
I'm getting a full refund and will be off to turnkey to buy the correct board as soon as I get it. :D
