How can you create your own sample cd ? AND another question

all right, I want to make a sample cd BUT I know most cd creating software wont let you go past 99 tracks & I have over a couple hunddred sounds I wanted to put on the CD.. let me know if thats possible or....also, how (if the above can be done) do you make sub directory categorys like, kick drum--bass-snare--etc.. Can that be done?

btw --all wav.s are in 16 bit 44.. & all you gotta do is tell me what software i need to do it & how & I'll take it from there..haha..

also, the sample cd is to be configured for the MPC XL..

you burn it as a data cd... not an audio cd...

1. Data, burn ISO 9660 to get all your sounds on there. I believe Nero 6 (one of the programs I use) does that ISO thing by default when burnin data cd's..

2. Audio, well your stuck with 99.. Or you could just join samples, ie.
Instead of TRK1: samp1, TRK2:samp2. Make it TRK1: samp1, samp2.. TRK2: samp3, samp4... I know of many sample cd's that have 10-15 samples on one TRK1 like that...

Yes, you can do it either way, data - audio or audio - data.

Audio to Data, you will have to rip audio from the cd and place it in a folder on PC.. Go to your burn program and burn the contents of that folder as Data..

Data to Audio, (MP3/WAV) in your burn program just choose to burn your files as Audio..

If using XP you can just right button drag the contents of that folder on over to the CDRW icon and it will ask you if you wanna burn data or audio.

Whatever you do don't do like I did. I made a 100% rookie move and failed to shorten the sample names before transferring my sounds to the PC. Mak sure that your sample names are no more than 8 charcters long. Or when you try to reload the pgms and or samples you WILLhaave some problems! ! I'm still re editing #@*!
