Broken MIDI Out Jack?

Ok so i just got a synth, i attached it and MPC was recieving MIDI, but could not send it back to the synth. My soft instruments were able to receive the MPC's midi out but not the new synth. After rearranging cables to isolate the problem, I have localized it to the second OUT jack, as in the synth receives MIDI, but only when its plugged into the other MIDI out jack, same with the software, leading me to believe that that jack is dead. Anyone dealt with this, i am comfortable working with a soldering iron, and would consider replacing the jack myself, but I need some guidance, and I am going away weds, so would love to get this in the shop tomorrow if necessary, have it fixed when I get back. HELP please....
