Linkin' AKAI S2000 to the MPC2000 Classic

I'm not really used to MIDI and how it works. I have an AKAI S2000 and I wanna make it a slave to my MPC 2000 (Classic). I'm told this means that I can assign sounds from the s2000 to pads on the MPC.

I've read both manuals, but I can't really find the way to fix it. I got both machines hooked up using a midi-cable...

Does anyone have suggestions?

Its on ch. 10 of the mpc2000 manual. ANd on page 12 there is a nice diagram.
Also look on "getting started-connections" on the s2000 manual.
