Problem MPC 2000 classic

For some reason when I load my os which is 1.72 my memory (18mg) dont pick up right away. But when I shut it of and back on a couple of times my memory finanlly kicks in. Also when my MPC has been on for a while and I turn it off and turn it back on again it doesn't read my os disks and sometimes it does. Then when it does I get all kind of letters and numbers and sometimes a blank screen, then it locks up. What could be the problem and what can I do to fix this sh**.

Man....all these views and no one can help me out?

Say dawg go over to www.akai.com and download OS 1.72 for the MPC 2000 and save it to a different floppy disk and then try that it should work with no problem.

As far as the memory things goes. It sounds like 2 problems. 1, open the MPC up and make sure the memory stick/sticks are in place all the way. 2, if they are in place and it still acts up then you have some fake memory sticks. Go on ebay and type in MPC 2000 and look for the 2 32meg sticks and replace the ones you got.
