Recording a sequence with sounds from a midi device....

Ok first of all excuse me if this is in the wrong section.....

Ok so when I sync my keyboard with my mpc and record sequences, I can keep the sequence but I cannot keep the sound, for instance when I switch the sound on the keyboard from trumpet to cello, I can play the sequence I originally recorded but it will play it with the cello sound instead of trumpet, can anyone help me fix this or can anyone tell me if it is possible to make a program from various sounds on the keyboard and keep and use them on the mpc without having the keyboard turned on?

it seems like you want to use more then one sound from one midi device, right? you hear a good trumpet and a nice cello you want to use from the same keyboard....is that right?

thats an easy fix. once you're done with recording your cello on lets say, MPC Track 1, midi channel 1, goto a new track, change it to MIDI, channel 2 and you should be able to record another instrument from the keyboard.

each new instrument has to be on its own MIDI channel...

Do you mean that when you turn off your mpc and then reload the sequence in the mpc it plays the wrong instrumen. Or another way of wording it, when you are playing the sequence and everything works fine, then u turn off your keyboard and turn it back on and it's set to a different instrument?

If you do mean this, you have to figure out how to save the presets on your keyboard (if thats a function of your keyboard). If you don't mean this then nevermind my entire post. Try reposting and explaining it a bit better because it sorta confused the heck out of me.
