confused 8 outs ..and yes i read the manual

Becasue of the mpc sucky manual im not able to really get into my newly aquired 8 outs...Some of the individual out seem link 1/2 while others are not.. Im not even sure if im in need of the stereo outs going into my mixer or am i suppose to just be using the 8 outs only...if someone can walk me thru thier beat making process with the 8 outs that would be great..

If you are using a stereo sample then you will
have to choose 1/2, 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8.

If you are using a mono sample then it
will show 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 to choose from.

Check to see what samples you have and that should clear things up for you..

I agree with what he said about stereo and mono samples. I am also having troubles the 8 outs. The outs what reproduce my panning settings for any of the sounds through any of the outs.

I had the same problem...but thankfully this thread has answered my Q...but how do I now if my samples are mono? is there a way of selcting only mono on the MPC when sampling?

In the sample screen you can select whether to sample stereo, mono left, or mono right. If you want to split a stereo sample into two mono samples, in the trim screen, press open window - I think if you scroll past copy you can find it - I can't remember off hand - but it's there.

Use the MPC's CONVERT feature.

If you have a stereo sample, then it's only natural that your would get TWO outputs selected when routing to the mpc 8 outputs. If you want your stereo sample to only use one output, then you should CONVERT the stereo sample into TWO MONO samples - L & R.

You must then go back to your PROGRAM and substitute then previous STEREO sample for a newly converted L or R sample. You can then go into the MIXER and assign the sounds to a single output on your 8 output board.
