Crashing...

My MPC 2000xL is acting very strange. When i hit the "Edit" key it freezes. Sometimes i get through a whole day's worth of work without incident and then there are the times (like tonight) where it just freezes up every time i hit the "Edit" key. I have to go to a cold re-boot to get my machine back. Anyone else have this problem or have any idea what the cause is?

Somthing similar happens to me to.

Ill try to get into the params screen and somtimes it will freeze and a bunch of numbers will show up..

Yes, i've had that happen also on occasion. That's more or less a "normal" crash. The information that comes up on the screen is for feedback for debugging the crash. What i described in my mail is scarier. The machine just freezes and doesn't give any feedback at all. I hope there's a cure.

I've been posting to the same effect. This machine will crash, and I've laid out the scenarios in which mine has crashed... I've found a few remedies, like moving SLOWER between moves...it seems to wig the machine out if you move around too fast.

I just wanted to briefly follow up on this issue. Since i started this thread, my MPC hasn't crashed once. Strange. I've had my 2000XLSe (with full memory) for a couple of years now and it's been like this. There will be days when it crashes every few minutes and then it can go weeks without a problem.

Very strange.
