No, not necessarilly. Naturally the 2000 was first the and Xl is the upgrade which just so happens to go deeper into sample editing among a few other things. If you like or love your 2000 the Xl will have you doing flips. The XL will make a lot of the things you did on the 2000 so much faster and easier. No more stopping your sequences to make paramater adjustments. It's the real deal.
