I need to be persuaded.

I've finally saved up my money to get me a MPC 2000XL. But now I'm having second thoughts about buying it. I'm trying to figure out what I can do with it that I can't do with Fruity Loops, which I have been useing. Is the thing worth it's $1000 price tag? Is it easy to use or dose it take time to learn? Help me out.

Oh yea is there a site where I can download Akai samples in wav format for free?

Once again, read about how MPC users on this forum LOVE their MPC's, no gear you will buy will be perfect. Some have a love/hate relationship with their MPC's but I bet you they wouldn't trade it for all the gold in China, well, maybe...

Read through the manual and see specifically what MPC's can basically do, compare what you find with what's in the frutiy loops manual.

Go visit a gear store with MPC's in stock and test one out..

There are many sites with free demos of sounds, that site http://www.mpc-tutor.com is a good one. I've heard they got good sample packs AND demos of those same sample packs. Check that out also..

At this point if you need somebody to sale you a reason you should get a mpc then i wont. I know this keyboards will come and go software programs will get better with more power for your dollar and there will be more mpc's with more this or that but once you get a mpc you have really found your franchies player and from now everything you from there will be in order to better what the mpc can do.

what up?...i myself was a computer based producer for almost three years..im not gonna lie i always wanted an mpc even then...but i didnt have the dough to afford one...anyway after a year or so of using fruity loops...sound forge..etc i started to get convinced that i didnt need an mpc and that i could do mostly everything through there...but then one day my boy copped an mpc and let me try it out and within 20mins of using it was hooked..and i was ready 2 sell everything i owned 2 get one..LoL the mpc just has a great hands on approach...instead of clicking where you what your kicks,snares(unles u have a midi contrler) etc to go with the mpc you actually play them...and besides that just look at all the producers that use it? it is deffinatley the insdustry standard..and a must for any hip-hop producer.. and now with the new 1000 it is more affordable then ever 2 get one...jus my thoughtz...

I was in the same boat. I went to a local shop, tried them both and I decided to stick with the 2000xl. Why? It just felt more rugged. The mpc1000 felt sorta flimsy to me. I might end up getting an mpc1000 to work with the mpc2000xl. That's if I end up liking the mpc approach.

when I bought my mpc 2000 the only thing that was out that could run with it at the time was the ASRX. I didnt know what I wanted to do at the time but I knew one of these two would be able to help me get what I wonted ot of music. i chose the mps over the asrx and was glade I did because after I found out what this thing could really do I was in love. and the only reason I might not use my mpc 2000 any more is because I have a 4000 on the way but I wont sale my 2000 until I am for sure I like the 4000 and from what I keep reading about the things it can do I'm 90% sure I will.

I've had my mpc2000 sence 1999 and thats WAY longer than any other peice of gear I've own.
