SCSI fuse blown out?

whats up yall, i recently bought an external iomega zip plus for my 2kxl, and then found out that people were sayin that the zip plus doesnt work with the 2kxl. However, just as a precaution, i want to know if there is a way to find out for myself if my scsi fuse is blown ? i dont wanna buy another zip drive if i dont have too. thanks

if you find that when your trying to load off of the zip and it just won't see the disk, very likely it's the scsi fuse. Mind you that the part is only like $4.30 from akai direct, and the fuse is located one the main board. It's a little hidden but it's there in one of the corners (top right if you hold the board straight i think). That could save you alot of money, because here in town they wanted $90 an hour. If you can get that far and just have a tech install the fuse it would be an cheap and easy fix. And if it doesn't work, you'll be alot happier losing sa $50 instead of a couple hundred for them do to do all of that work. Better yet, if you know someboady that works on boards and has the proper tools, you could get it done for freee!!! Hope this helps out...PEACE!!!
