PLEASE HELP!!!! (MPC2000 + Digital 8 track QUESTION!!)

ok here's my dillema:

I own an amp, a dj mixer, a turntable, and a digital roland 8 track.

Now my original setup without the 8 track, had my dj mixer as the main piece of equipment. My mpc and turntable were hooked up to my dj mixer, which was hooked up to my amp.

Now that i have this 8 track, how exactly do i hook these 4 pieces of equipment up? And as far as the 8 track, what chords/wires do i need to hook it up to whatever needs to be hooked up? Thank you GREATLY in avance!!

Turntable into DJ mixer> DJ mixer into MPC or 8 track(I'm assuming you use the TT for sampling in which case you would plug it into the MPC)> MPC into Roland 8 track> 8 track main or monitor outs to your amp> amp to speakers(you didn't mention any but I'm assuming you have some).

What kind of cables you'll need depends on exactly what model Roland 8 track you have. Just take a look at the inputs and outputs of everything, they'll either be 1/4 inch connections or RCA connections. If you need to connect a 1/4 inch to RCA just get some 1/4 inch to RCA plugs or adapters. Good luck.

1. the turn table hooks to the mixer
2. the mixer hooks to your roland 8 track with rca jacks if your unit does not have rca jacks then buy from radio shack rca to 1/4 lines.
3. your mpc plugs in to the roland 8 track with 1/4 to 1/4 lines can be brought at the same store
4. Hook the Roland 8 track to your amp.

but since you both gave different opinions on which to hook my mixer up to, what would be the difference exactly? whether it's mixer to mpc to 8 track, or mixer to 8 track to the mpc?

We actually gave the same advice, I just added that you could plug the the mixer directly into the MPC OR the 8 track. The difference between the two will be how you sample from the turntable, if the tt/mixer is plugged directly into the MPC then you just sample as usual but if you have the tt/mixer plugged into the 8 track you'll have to route the signal to the aux outs(if your unit has them) to the MPC inputs to record your samples.
