Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

When I go to the disk page and attempt to load samples from a zip the mpc freezes on the message 'wait...' I've tried different ways of loading the samples onto the zip, creating .pgm files, putting them in a folder, just having wav files etc... but the results are the same. I've heard this may have something to do with formatting my zip disk from mac to work with the mpc but i'm not sure how, or what exactly this means. Is it the way i'm putting samples onto my zip disk, or the zip disk itself? what is the standard readable arrangement of samples on a zip disk for the mpc2000? Cheers

Hey,

What format is your ZIP disk? It can't be MPC format, and it can't be Mac OS X Format, you should use disk utility to format it to FAT16.

I've been having some trouble transferring lately too, but I think its related to a crappy disk.

Also, try and keep your foldering down to one level (ie don't have folders within folders on the disk) because the mpc will get stuck in higher levels of folders and you wont be able to get back to the "root" or first level folders.

(ie have "root" and then folders within "root" and no more folders after that)

Does anyone know a way to get around this problem of the MP getting stuck in this situation?

Remember, ALWAYS use a different Zip for transferring files than the one you store your beats and final .APS and .PGM on!!!
