more pad banks on the 2kxl

i probably already know the answer..
but is it possible to get more pad banks on the xl?
maybe some upgrade or something?

lately i always get to use nearly all pads for one beat
and i wish i had more banks..

i just checked the 4000 and realized that it has 6 pad banks..
thats dope but i don't really wanna switch to the 4000 yet..

4 pad banks times 16 pads = 64 sounds = 1 program

64 sounds x 4 programs = 256 sounds/pads at the same time...

You need more than that?

oh... i guess i never used more than one program huh?

yeah you need to work with multiple programs and if you already are damn thats alot of time putting 256 sounds for each beat.

now i figured how to create new programs and i thought that was cool...

i dont get how i can use two different programs on the same sequence though..

lets say i got one full program, on each pad is a sound..
i got my little beat and everything but there is no bassline.
so i create a new program with bass samples and want to add those to my
existing sequence.. how can i do that??

am i doing something wrong or is this really not possible??

cant you select the program number from the main screen?

You want to read up on the different "DRUM"s. When you go into program you select the "DRUM" you are using. Typically you use DRUM1. You need to assign a different program to each DRUM, then in the sequencer, you pick the DRUM # for each track. It defaults to DRUM1, but you can change it to 1-4. Notice the DRUM thing comes into play in the mixer screen too.

Main disadvantage of this is if you are using FX, they can only be applied to one DRUM program at a time.

yeah but if you select the second program all the sounds are gone
so i can't play the beat i made with the sounds of the first program.

this is really **** me up...

i thought it was dope when jacpot made me realize i can use 4 programs at one time... but this is useless if i cant use them together...

yesterday i tried to switch programs with Pgm:
thats why it didn't work...
yo i always thought i know my mp but now these things are really confusing to me...

but theres still some things i dont get:

i used an open hihat on the beat which is a sound of program 1.
when i switch to program 2 the whole beat is playing but the open hihat is missing. why is that?

damn i feel like a rookie again....

aight i guess i'm cool now..
i didnt realize that u can/ have to set the program FOR EACH TRACK seperately....

sorry for causing panic and all that but this is a whole new chapter to me...
