Just Bougth A 2000XL, Need Some Help!

Hi! Iv'e just bought my first mpc (a 2000xl). It's all standard so im about to make some modifications, thefore I've got some noobish questions which I hope someone would be kind to help me with

1. How do I upgrade OS

2. I've got a hold of a box of old 72 pin simm memories, the problem is most of them is unmarked... Can I mess something up by installing a non compatible one?

3. I'm bout to hook the mpc up with a cardreader, do I upgrade the OS before or after I've installed it? And whats the largest CF card the mpc can handle?

By putting it (unpacked .bin file) on the floppy/zip.

It depends which os you are running now. If it's not 1.14, then upgrade to this one. I wouldn't recommend upgrading to 1.2 before installing cardreader.

And whats the largest CF card the mpc can handle?

2 GB, with 2 partitions. I would go for 512 MB, but it's up to you, how much you want to mess with it and check different capacities.

No, your mpc just won't show the correct amount of installed RAM. No harm done, just try different sticks until you reach 32mb.
