Original sounds CD-ROM and cardreader

Hi,
I would like to install a cardreader in my MPC2000XL, but I want to use the original CD-ROM with sounds that came with the machine. How can I translate the samples and programs to a card. I recall that doing that with a PC can trucate the long filenames in the sounds, and the programs may not be able to read them. Is there any way around this?

It won't necessarily make them unreadable. By doing that you can just get weird numbers with this '~' sign at the end as far as I remember. It will change files names ends but sounds might still be useful. Give it a try.
