god damnit someone help and answer me please.

well once again another post wasted. someone please help me again. no one has helped ina while. i copped the 2000xl on ebay. it takes about 25 minutes to load up. it has the 32 mb upgrade and floppy drive. my scsi drive aint here yet. comes in two days. i'm getting pretty pissed off, because this thing is taking mad long to do anything. i go to load and when it finishing saying detecting memory, it goes to load screen. i press down cursor arrow and it goes right back to mainscreen again. then the cursor arrows don't work. wtf is going on. i have no idea to find out what os it has since the damn thing won't let me press buttoins. it just goes right backt o mainscreen. i have to wait about ten minutes in between button presses. is th eram bad? or something? someone help

I would try loading new OS, I mean any OS that you can put on floppy and load.
On the other hand it might be bad ram memory, since it takes so long to do anything on the machine. It doesn't hurt to try with different ones, I mean 2x 16 mb, but not the ones you are using now.
Wait for others to reply though.

most pc retailers dont carry the RAM needed, cause its so old, your better off going to some PC charity or recycler, the one i went to had a massive box full i got a fistful for $3 and got a pair that worked fine for me and my s3200xl..

thanks that is all i needed to know. i was gonna go tthe thrisft store and go through there box of ram. so those are the specs i need thanks. i am gonna go tomorrow and check that shit out and go on ebay to buy some too. **** it theankls man.

i tried loading the os 1.14 and the floppy just turndson real quick then off and it doesn't even seem to be reading th edamn thing. so screw it. i am going to buy another one. who cares.

haha. i sold it for like 350 to some cat in alsaka. wow. anyways i just copped a studio plus off ebay. plus on vsts page i see htey sell the cables for the mcd onthere so i don't have to splice and possbly ruin another mp's guts. haha. i'm set. peace

well i sold it for cheap so i could just buy another one, but after thingking about it. i think it only had the 2 mb ram stick in it. the gy said it had 32 mb ram upgrade but it moved slower than molasses on a winter day. oh well. guitar center is gonna call me back todya and slang me another xl with the ram upgrade no 8 outs and a floppy drive for 400-450 bucks. so that dope right htere. then i will just pay for shippign to my house since guitar center is like 180 miles away and i am lazy. but yeah i already have my external zip drives all ready to go. one ofr hte ocmputer, one for the mp, and a multi card reader waiting to be installed withthte cables i bought from vst for 20 each. power and ide ribbon. i'm rady for action again. i miss my 1k already, but who cares. peace all and thanks for the help, to those who actually help on here. aight i'm out

does anybody got a clear picture of both ends of the ide/Atapi cables i will need for the card reader in a XL....it seems i cant ever get a good look at exactly what they look like on the net. I want to go hit up some thrift stores but i need to know exactly what im looking for. are these cables a rare item that i have to buy from a dealer.
