where to find the right sounds

Hi i am brand new to this mpc2000xl. I'm trying to figure out where i am supposed to get sounds for the machine. I've searched the web and only found a few decent ones which i am practicing with but i am going to need something a little better soon. are you supposed to mainly use loops with it? also i had a loop and i'm trying to get it to fit within 2 bars, any suggestions?

There are a million and one sites on the web to find sounds, not too mention that MPC-TUTOR.com site everyone talks about..

For loops you will have to play with the TUNE of the sample, TEMPO of the sequence, possibly TIME STRETCHING the sample (check my link below for a time strech calculator site), and most of all experimentation/patience to get it just right with no clicks and/or pops.

zone and chop them yourself, if you have CD's or tapes or whatever you have sounds. you MAKE sounds yourself, record that. Like Lamp said they are everywhere some sites even offer FREE samples, you will be amazed what type of library you can build just from those.

just tonite i got slapped in the face by some b!tch and it sounded like a snare, and then her boyfriend punched me in the stomach and it sounded like a kick. oh yeah, and breaking bottles pitched up sound like hi-hats...

Take some time and do a search for various topics on this site. There is a wealth of info already here that has been discussed numerous times. Also, you should check out the MPC-Tutor sample demos that he has available here. They are good and they are cheap too.

You know, sounds are everywhere. Right under your nose. But you'll have to get to that kind of thinking first. Do the search here, then you' ll see. Otherwise, email me if you still want/need some sounds.
