cannot change original keypad

I am trying to map a smaple a bank using the 16 levels function but for some reason the MPC will not let me change the original keypad. when i try and move to the field using the cursor keys it does not respond. I have tried shutting down and restarting... no help. Is there a setting i changed somwhere?

someone posted this awhile back,i forgot who but i saved it just incase.....

"PROBLEM: Sometimes when I use the 16 levels button to have one sound pitched over the pads my 2000XL won´t let me change the "original key pad" (default is 4).

THE SOLUTION: Press shift and the "Note variation button, AFTER". Assign the same sound to the "note variation" slider and then deactivate AFTER. Now 16 levels tuning work and the "original key pad" can be changed!"
