Is it possible to use mpcpgmmaker with the classic 2000? Anyone have success? Does it matter what media you use? I was thinking zip disks (USB zip drive on the computer and scsi on the mpc.

I've read alot of people saying it may not work, but no confirmations of it working.

Works good for me. I make the pgm files in 3000 format though so I can use it with 3000's when I go to a studio with one.

So you use the 3000 format on your 2000 classic as well?

Yes I use 3000 format on my 2000 classic so I can use the pgm's on mpc 3000's when need be.2000 format works fine for my 2000 classic, never tried it on a 3000 yet. Just have to remember not to save into folders because the 2000 classic can't read them.

this is an old topic , but i thought i would mention i use an MPC 2000 with MPC Program Maker on OSX and it works fine. Let the program convert your wavs to .SND , that seems to work the best. I use a USB zip connected to the computer and a SCSI hooked up to the MPC.

I think you need to format the ZIP on the computer as opposed to formatting it on the MPC.. Just have one zip you use for all your Computer -> MPC transfers.
