Wrong File Format?

This appears when i try to load and old beat, the sequence is there but no samples...anyone ever heard of this?

Have you changed/edited any of your samples that belong to this beat ?
Does .pgm file exist in the folder with samples??

I just had the same problem yesterday! I try to load a pgm that I created and have used many times, and I get the 'wrong file format' message. It will load one or two samples from the program, and the program will show up on Drum1, but most of the samples wont load. I try to load them individually and some will load and some just say wrong file format. Its killing me. Any help would be great. thanks...

the .wavs need to be stripped so that they are just 16bit. 44khz. type.

you can use a .wav stripper to do this..

also, sometimes the mpc will only load a .wav if it's extension i.e (.wav) is in capitals i.e .WAV. not sure why this is but try and and see if it works for you.

if you are using a mac you can run a folder script to batch change the extensions from .wav to .WAV

thanks, man, but they are .snd files...do you know if i can convert them into wavs without loading them? they are on an internal zip disk. I don't know how I could get them into my computer...i have a pc and mac, but the pc's zip wont recognize the mpc zip. the mac only has a cd drive.

My first thought is that the PC SHOULD recognize the MPC zip, although it may do funny things with the file names if they are not 8.3 format. It is also possible that if you tried to put the zip in the PC and it didn't read it, when it was trying to read it, the PC did something to the zip disc. I've heard something about PCs modifying zip discs so that they are no longer properly readable in the MPC, but I've only had limited experience with this myself. I seem to recall getting a "file corrupted" error.
