My homie is about to cop a 2000 xl from this guy for a really nice price. the guy doesnt live in the same city so my homie cant go over there and inspect it himself (atleast until he goes to pick it up). so I was wondering, what are some general, and even specific and technical questions my friend should ask this guy?

appreciate the help guys!

- Does everything work? (duh!)
- What options are installed (memory, fx board, 8-outs)?
- What storage options are included (floppy, card reader, zip) and do they still work? (for instance my floppy drive made a weird screaching noise with some floppies when they were in the drive and not read/written, that's not a good sign)
- Does the screen still has enough contrast?

I always want to see some pics of the actual item and I ask some questions about how the guy used it (live, only in the studio, ... ).

Before buying a piece of equipment I always do some research before buying to see what issues it might have (now and in the future) and how easy it is and what it will cost me to repair that stuff myself.

Also:
- do all the buttons work properly?
- what's the condition of pads and note variation slider?
- does it have any scratches on surface?
- was it used in a smoke free environment?

That's the extra stuff I would ask about, plus things that ReckOne posted of course.
