Internal MCD

I've been trying to get a card reader for my xl but the ones that are known to work are sold out or over priced. Does anybody know of others that will work?
You can get them for like $15 from TigerDirect, until someone finds out they will work in a 2000 then they jump up to $125. That shizz is ridiculous. Is there a list of compatibles out there? I searched but couldnt find one. NYM? LAMP? ROHAN? ANYBODY? one

Well, to be honest even if they cost so much, it is always worth it in my opinion. Comparing to zip drives, not to mention floppys.
Recently I found a card reader for my other sampler, that used to cost like 20 bucks I assume. Just guessing, but there was nothing special about it when it came out a few years ago, just compatibility with scsi...Now it's discontinued.
I paid over 100 bucks to get it of ebay. The condition was very good and it works flawlessly.
Now they charge like 125 dollars + s&h for new ones, mad price isn't it.

But still, when it comes to thinking forward I don't regret it at all. I have the best solution for saving/loading and don't even want to think how much it's going to cost in near future.

To all these guys thinking about getting one and looking for lower prices: If you can't find them after 2 weeks, you probably won't. Hurry up and cop them even for more money. You will be all set and can take one thing off your mind.

I've looked just about everywhere I can think of and it seems that any compatible multi-card readers for the XL are discontinued? wtf? Anyone know any online dealer who's selling them???

I bought mine a couple of months ago and it seems that was just in time. The only places that are still selling them are specialised stores = overpriced!

Still, it might be more expensive, but once you get one, you'll never look back.

Last I checked, VST, Forat, and MPCStuff.com all sold the MCD kits with cables and everything. I don't see what the problem is?
