Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I was wondering because I was wondering who samples drum sounds into there MPC using a DJ CD player? If so where do you plug the cd player into the MPC using what cables? If not how do you load sample disk into your MPC?

I dont use a DJ CD player but, I do use a CD walkman. I use a "y" cable. I plug the two 1/4" plugs into the MPC RECORD-IN, and I plug in the mini stereo jack into the CD walkman's line out. Then, I play a CD on the CD walkman and go into sample mode on the MPC (Shift + 4) and vualla! Peace

What beets said is exactly what you would do with a CD DJ player..
I have been playing around on my friends CDJ1000 and it's nice, I sampled some scratching I did in his 2kxl and took it to Sound Forge, to clean it up ie, EQ and other junk.. I t was a great experience.. But, (there's always a but) you can do this all digitally (with no loss of quality) with no analog conversion within the PC if you have a means of transfer to the MPC and/or you have digital outs on your mixer to digitals ins on your MPC via a wave editor also.... For those who go with CDJ to MPC, it's all up to what mixer/preamp you have.. Analog conversion or straight digital..
