Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hey guys,
I have a question concerning my 2000xl(with 100mb internal zip)...I am totally happy with it and am progressing somewhat with making songs and programs but am stumped because I cant get none of it on my pc. I went to my local guitar center and was told that I can simply buy a usb external zip at a radio shack and transfer files. I went ahead and purchased one and my pc wont reconize the programs I made. How can I transfer the files to my pc? Do I need to purchase any hardware to do so or it it a certain program like cooledit or soundforge that can help me? I would greatly appreciate all replies..
Thanks again

What exactly are you trying to do? Why do you want your programs etc to be recognised by your PC? What do you want to do with the transfered files??

Explain

I was under the impression he was trying to open up MPC PGM's and such 'files' on his PC and was wondering y he couldn't.

The stated thread is about Disk Formats and OS system recognition....If it is in fact what you were looking for, apologies. If not, re-post

Are you trying to open the Akai PGM files & SEQ from within Cooledit?

This will not work....The best thing to do is record your tracks as audio into cooledit then take it from there?

Do you know what I mean

Bravo is right. If you are trying to transfer music you've already done the best way is to record it into your sequencing software one track at a time as audio. You can also save it as midi if you have a midi interface, but it will still have to be converted into audio. Hope that helps.
