i bought my mpc 2kxl off ebay second hand ive had it for bout 3 weeks and so far ive had no probs, mine came ground shiped from america to here australia took bout 2 months, so i was scared bout all the bumps and knocks along the way but it was fine, i think there is a lot of trust involved, especialy if you can not go to the sellers house and try it out, just ask them questions, look at ther feedback raitings % compaired to how many items they have sold, if they have a good reputation you should be ok. but i have read alot of posts about people reciving broken items, in that case ebay can refund part of your money. id say try chances are most second hand equipment owned by a person in a serious studio enviroment would look after ther equipment alot more.

Got my 2K off eBay. Had some issues that ended up bringing the price down, but everything works, except the power button. Many ways around that though.

Pay using PayPal, and if you have issues, you can always get them to go after the seller to resolve any issues. That's what I had to do.

Peace,
KM

Bought my classic off the bay and apart from turning up with no power cable everything worked fine. It was even upgraded to full memory which wasn't in the description.

Although thinking about it maybe it was hot . . . . . .

F**k it

Peace

Copped mines off the bay too. Had a problem cutting off by itself so I opened it up and did a little soldering and haven't had the problem again.

dunno where you're from fam, but craigslist is another good place to find use gear. I bought mine from a guy on craigslist, paid $550 for it, but he walked me through the whole machine when I first started.

Bought my XL on ebay, 1 years ago = 400€!
Works great, and looks like a new one with the CFreader (=40€) and the new blue color.

just research who you're buying it from and i think you'll be ok too.
